Clippers forward Marcus Camby sat out Monday's practice with a sprained right ankle and rookie guard Eric Gordon was limited by a sore hamstring.
Both are listed as day-to-day for tonight's game in Dallas.
"The good news is we've had a lot of bright lights, guys showing up to do the things we need them to do, and we'll try and get it to jell as fast as we can,"
Clippers coach Mike Dunleavy said.
"But obviously the best we're going to be is when we're healthy. You try and prepare for it, but there's a lot of moving parts."
Over the weekend, the team learned it would be without starting center Chris Kaman for "up to two weeks"
while he tries to recover from a strained left arch.
Camby injured his ankle late in Saturday's win over Miami, but was able to return for the final few minutes.
He participated in some of Sunday's practice, but took Monday off to rest up.
"It's still sore,"
Camby said. "We just rested me up today, and I'll try and give it a shot tomorrow if I feel better."
"There's a little swelling in there, but I think we got most of it out yesterday and today, and we'll see how it goes tomorrow."
Gordon did a little more on Monday, but did not run full court and did not finish half-court drills.
"I'd say he's game time,"
Dunleavy said.
The Clippers (3-13) begin a four- game road trip tonight against the Mavericks. They'll play four games in five nights before returning to Los Angeles.
The last time the team left town, two key players - Tim Thomas and Cuttino Mobley - were traded to the Knicks in exchange for Zach Randolph and Mardy Collins.
"It's kind of tough with four games in five nights, but every NBA team goes through it,"
Camby said.
"Hopefully we can keep jelling as we get Zach involved a little more in the offensive and defensive end on what we do out here."
"Last time the road was good. We were able to get a win, but overall we were able to start playing a whole lot better."
