Gordon era begins at Indiana with host of new faces
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) - Indiana fans are being treated to a new look in college basketball tonight. There's Eric Gordon, the state's reigning Mr. Basketball, finally decked out in a cream and crimson uniform. There's DeAndre Thomas, the Hoosiers' new wide body, checking in at 302 pounds. And there's Eli Holman, the 6-foot-9 freshman whose months-long wait to hear the NCAA declare him eligible finally ended hours before practice began. For the Hoosiers, it's that kind of opening night - exciting, frenetic and unlike anything these seven new players had ever experienced. Thousands of hopeful fans were seated inside Assembly Hall by 7 p.m. to watch the Michigan State-Indiana volleyball match, waiting another three hours until the basketball festivities were to begin. While Eric Gordon was the main attraction, Hoosiers fans also got a look at his teammates who are trying to put Indiana back on the national map this season. See More
