NBA Rumors: Eric Gordon Willing to Sign Long-Term Deal with Los Angeles Clippers
According to ESPN Los Angeles, Eric Gordon is willing to sign a long-term deal with Los Angeles.
The Clippers have an awfully promising young core of talent on the team, and Eric Gordon is at the forefront of that pack.
Despite taking a backseat to Blake Griffin as the team's face, "EJ" really broke out for the team in his third season, posting a career-high 22.3 points per game in 2010-11.
While there are some injury concerns with the extraordinarily talented shooting guard considering that he's never played a full complement of games yet, that shouldn't serve as a deterrent to the team locking him up for the future.

If the club is able to secure him on a deal that doesn't limit their financial flexibility to reward Blake Griffin when it's time, it's definitely a scenario worth pursuing.
Gordon and Griffin have an opportunity to form one of the most formidable one-two punches in all of basketball, and the Clippers probably recognize exactly that.
It wouldn't be surprising to see the two sides hook up for a deal sooner rather than later, especially now that Baron Davis is in Cleveland.
