The Dallas Mavericks will close out a three-game road trip Sunday when they pay a visit to the Los Angeles Clippers at Staples Center.
Dallas fell to 1-1 on the trek and had a three-game winning streak come to an end after Friday's 97-88 setback to the Utah Jazz in Salt Lake City. Jason Terry registered a game-high 26 points, while Josh Howard added 18 in a losing effort.
Jason Kidd contributed seven points, eight rebounds and nine assists for the Mavericks, who got 17 points and eight rebounds from Dirk Nowitzki. Nowitzki was ejected early in the fourth quarter after committing a Flagrant 2 foul.
The Mavs are 9-6 as the guest this season.
Los Angeles has dropped two in a row and three of its last four games, including Monday's 97-75 loss to the Toronto Raptors in the opener of a quick two-game homestand.
Zach Randolph, who left the game with a bruised left knee early in the fourth quarter and did not return, had 19 points and eight rebounds for the Clips. Eric Gordon also added 19 points and Baron Davis chipped in 16 points and nine assists in defeat.
Randolph is questionable for Sunday's game for LA, which owns a 3-11 mark at home this season.
The 2008-09 season series between the Mavs and Clippers is tied at 1-1, but Dallas has won seven of eight and 30 of the previous 39 meetings. Dallas and LA have split the last eight encounters at Staples Center.
